President Obama will tour Southern California on Wednesday and Thursday, with stops at town hall-style meetings in Los Angeles and Costa Mesa and a visit to ” The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.” Obama’s visit is being touted by NBC as the first guest appearance on the show by a sitting president. Obama is expected to discuss the economy and how his administration is dealing with the global meltdown.

Most of the audience for “Tonight” is chosen in advance, but some tickets for a specific show are available that day on a first-come, first-served basis at the NBC Ticket Box, located at NBC in Burbank, the network said. Ticket Box opens at 8 a.m.

In Orange County on Wednesday, Obama is scheduled to hold a town hall session at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa. The event is free, although a ticket will be required, according to the White House.

Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the center, 88 Fair Drive. Entry is through Gate 1 or Gate 10, the White House said.

On Thursday, Obama is scheduled to visit a manufacturing plant in Pomona. The visit is closed to the public.

That same day Obama will hold a town hall-style meeting in Los Angeles. Tickets are to be distributed through registration at the White House website: http://www.whitehouse.gov/latownhall/.
