Clearly.. every female is going to be A “SEXY” something or other.. it’s the part I loathe about Halloween nowadayz.. it’s usually just a gathering of bitches that want to let their HO PARTZ breathe.. I believe in COMMITTING.. if you are gonna be a witch go all out, mole, cauldron, green skin.. .. if you are a vampire or something scary..BE REVOLTING.. there is no such thing as A SEXY OPTIMUS PRIME .. or A SEXY HARRY POTTER. it’s not sexy just CORNY.. so here are some ideas from those of us that do not get our Halloween Costumes from Frederick’s of Hollywood.. or Drakes OR the Stripper section of the Swap Meet.
I say if you dress like a hoe most of the time.. be different, be a librarian or a bitch with clothes on or simply walk around with a book in front of your face.. this will BE A GREAT DISGUISE and again just rock clothes .. at least drawers it will be a change.. people won’t recognize you with your titties behind a blouse WHAT!!!!
ANYHOO I DIGRESS.. NOW
clearly the most popular costumes for the ladies are the Pan AM chicks.. ABC has blessed us with this awesome revival of retroliciousness.. (THAT’S A WORD).
there are many variations..HOWEVER.. I SUGGEST going the authentic route.. or be a Pan AM zombie lol..that’s would I would do but hey.. THAT’S ME.. Please try to avoid that corny Soul Train Electric Blue Dress with that tired fake stewardess hat , RANDOM WING APPLIQUE’ AROUND THE NECKLINE, and the silver platforms..
I AM EGGING SEXY FLIGHT ATTENDANTS ON SIGHT !!! HA HA HA !!
I mean this is just wrong.. you would be better off going to your local thrift shops and building one. This joint here is 24.99 at EVERY COSTUME SHOP.. I am sure it is posted next to the obscure and hard to obtain PLAYBOY BUNNY COSTUME (rolls eyes).. right between the SEXY GYPSIE AND THE SEXY FREDDY KRUEGER..(bitch yess , there is a sexy Freddy Krueger)..
Bamboobanga is going to show you how to make a Pan AM costume as well as where to get other fun, fresh, and funky costumes to add ummph to your trick or treating adventures..
lol.. for the correct way to don these and many other dope costumes.. Follow the GREAT PUMPKIN … to the next page LOL..
Here is one way to create this look if you have time.. If you haven’t chosen a costume at this point .. It’s too late to get to sewing and shit..BUT HERE IS WHAT U COULD HAVE DONE!!
Now.. this comes from http://www.instructables.com/id/Pan-Am-Costume/. .. Look at the process and maybe next year you can do this..don’t trip .. I am sure it will still be on the air, but lowkey this was a popular costume before the SHOW.. Stewardesses and Pilots rock..
Materials :
Blue fabric
White fabric for collar
Pattern for a blazer and skirt
http://www.simplicity.com/p-5832-misses-miss-petite-sportswear.aspx this is the pattern that I used.
White trim for the hat
Gloves
1 gold button
Thread
… then any fun accessory/prop for that vintage look.
Lay out your pattern for the blazer and the skirt – cut out then sew your 2 basic pieces for the costume. For the white collar, I just used the same pattern piece and cut it out with the white fabric then attached it to the finished jacket – so easy!
Cut out your fabric on the pattern – add the white trim on the outside of the hat and to wing. Once finished add a gold button to your wing on the hat.
Various steps to make the most important feature of this costume.. THE CHAPEAU!
Steps 4 and 5
I know it’s a lot right but the end result is cute lol.. come on homemakers.. NOW REAL TALK..this is too much work for MOI’.. This would cut into my smoking time lol.. but some of us are real domesticated and such and can knock this out in a day .. I am merely sharing the experience with ya’ll. I would have to hire the seamstress to make this happen for ME LOL..
YOU’RE ALMOST DONE!!
VOILA.. to finish this up I would suggest checking your local thrift stores and seeing if they have any awesome Pan Am WINGS left around.. or any wings for that matter.. here are some other tips.. in case you actually find a suit in a thrift shop that only requires embellishments and accessories:
Blue Suit with a Jacket and Skirt – The “Pan Am Blue” is close to a Royal Blue. Suits can be found at your local thrift store. If you’re handy, you can tailor your jacket to make it fit your ladylike figure and shorten the sleeves. Similarly, the skirt length is acceptable just to your knee.
· White Collared Shirt – Spread the collar over the lapel of the suit jacket.
· White Gloves – Gloves should reach the middle of your arm. Opera length gloves are too long. In a pinch, use shorter gloves, not longer ones.
· Nylon Hosiery – In the ‘60s, hosiery was not as sheer as today. Emphasize that you’re wearing hosiery by wearing a less-sheer style.
· Short-Heeled Black Pumps – The stewardesses of Pan Am were on their feet all day, so find a sensible, lower heel.
· Pan Am Wings Lapel Pin – A pattern is available for you to downloadhere. Simply print it out, cut it carefully and attach it to a piece of heavy paper or thin cardboard (like that of a milk carton). Then, affix a safety pin to this and wear your wing on the left side of your jacket (over your heart).
· Pan Am Stewardess Cap – A pattern to create your own paper cap is available for download here. There’s a pattern for the Pan Am cap pin provided as well.
· Pan Am Flight Bag – If you haven’t yet ordered your own bag, you can create your own by modifying a bowling bag or other similar large bag.
GOOD LUCK.. and HAPPY HALLOWEEN..
